Where do the listings come from?
Facebook Marketplace, Kijiji, eBay, major retailers through Google Shopping, and sellers on NORTH / MARKET. We search them at the same time and show the results side by side.
Do I buy through NORTH / MARKET?
For other marketplaces, no. You open the listing and buy there, the same way you normally would. Items from NORTH / MARKET sellers are bought here.
Why is the price different from the listing?
We show the total: item price plus shipping and estimated sales tax for your province. Local pickup has no shipping and private sales usually have no tax, so the total can be lower than a retailer’s sticker price.
Does the authenticity meter guarantee an item is real?
No. It rates how well a listing’s evidence holds up, using the product type, price and what the seller shows. It tells you what to ask for before paying, but only an in-person check or professional authentication can confirm an item.
How do you use my location?
Only to find listings near you. It’s rounded to about 1 km, saved on your device, and shared only with the services that search nearby listings.
Can sellers pay to appear in Our picks?
No. Picks are ranked only on total price, distance and trust.
How do I stay safe buying locally?
Meet in a busy public place, check the item works before paying, and never send a deposit or e-transfer before you’ve seen it. Listings asking for that are flagged.
How do I sell on NORTH / MARKET?
Go to Sell, scan your item with your phone camera for clean photos, set a price and publish. Your listing appears alongside the marketplaces shoppers already compare.
